School course of History as a powerful mean of forming the citizenship competence of youth

On 17th October, 2017 students of the 11th form of Bila Tserkva School №6 became active participants in the training «Democracy and Totalitarianism: Two Worlds, Two Lifestyles.» Lesson was held by Tatyana Grebenchuk, master-trainer of project «Development of Citizenship Competences in Ukraine».

Participants in groups identified the characteristics of democratic and totalitarian regimes, gave examples of democratic and totalitarian regimes of the XX-XXI centuries, developed recommendations for protecting their rights in democratic and totalitarian states by using didactic materials.

They conducted an interactive exercise «In what state I would (wanted to) live?» Using the «Let’s take a position» method. During the training, there were used the materials of the teaching manuals «Learning democracy» and «Living in democracy».
