A renovated shelter opens at Pershotravneve Lyceum in the Vyzyrka community, Odesa region

In 2021, the community began its collaboration with DECIDE, making significant progress in developing its education system. However, the war changed everything, and ensuring children's safety became a priority. Creating a comfortable shelter space was essential to guaranteeing access to education even during air raid alerts.
The renovation of the shelter at Pershotravneve Lyceum, which serves 650 students, started almost from scratch. Yet, thanks to participation in the "DECIDE: Reconstruction" initiative, the efforts of the community, and support from local council deputies, a modern, comfortable, and safe educational space was created.
Today, thanks to "DECIDE: RECONSTRUCTION" initiative, students can study in a space equipped with everything needed for safe and comfortable learning—from an educational hub to a relaxation area. Additionally, through a project development programme and a mini-grant from DECIDE, students took the initiative to set up a sports room within the shelter.
