Shelter restored in Nosivka Lyceum №5 with support from the DECIDE Project
Through the support of the DECIDE project, the basement has been transformed into a shelter and a modern educational hub!
Thanks to investments of UAH 4.4 million, more than 900 m² of space has been restored, including new bathrooms and a lift for people with limited mobility. The Swiss-Ukrainian project «DECIDE» covered half of the costs, while the Nosivka territorial community from the Chernihiv Region funded the other half.
The shelter is equipped with modern equipment to ensure comfortable conditions for study and recreation. 1000W charging stations have been installed to ensure the equipment’s smooth operation.
Furthermore, through the «Always in Touch, even in a Shelter» project developed by the lyceum students, the shelter allows them to stay in touch with their families even during alarms. During the training sessions led by DECIDE experts, the students learned how to create estimates and present and promote their ideas to create a modern educational hub in the shelter. The best project was chosen by voting.
As a reminder, «DECIDE: REBUILDING» is an initiative of the DECIDE Swiss-Ukrainian project aimed at helping territorial communities in the Chernihiv, Odesa, and Poltava regions restore access to safe education for 17,000 children by rebuilding schools and arranging school shelters.
