The reform of specialized secondary education was discussed by the territorial communities of the Mykolaiv region
In the Mykolaiv region, there was a public discussion of the goals of the reform of specialized secondary education.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 121 schools have been damaged and 19 ones destroyed in the region. At the same time, 35 educational institutions have already been restored.
The return of access to quality education is extremely important for the Mykolaiv region. Since most classes this academic year were conducted virtually, school buses and shelters are being actively constructed and maintained around the area.
In addition to restoring and ensuring the educational process in such difficult conditions, the Mykolaiv region, in particular, is actively preparing for the introduction of specialized secondary education.
More than 80 participants joined public discussions on the reform.
To create a network of lyceums, it is important to take into account the demographic forecast. In Ukraine and the Mykolaiv region in particular, the tendency to reduce the number of high school students with the lowest forecast for 2030 is deepening. In addition, the war will aggravate the situation even more, so the planning of the reform and the creation of a network of educational institutions should take into account these crises.
During the event, the DECIDE experts conducted a short survey among guests to understand the essence of the reform. Below we share interesting data obtained from the survey.
77% of participants noted that thanks to the discussion, the essence of the reform of specialized secondary education has become clearer.
