The Strategic Priorities for the Restoration and Development of Extracurricular Education: Regional and Local Dimension strategic session was held in Kyiv
How to restore and develop out-of-school education in Ukraine? This was discussed at the Strategic Priorities for the Restoration and Development of Out-of-School Education: Regional and Local Dimension strategic session. The event was held on July 2 in Kyiv. It is organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with the support of the DECIDE Swiss-Ukrainian project.
The meeting brought together more than 50 participants, including heads of the Ministry of Education and Science, experts, representatives of public organizations, state and regional centres of the extracurricular education system, as well as heads of territorial communities, and heads of education departments. The key topic of discussion is the restoration and development of out-of-school education in Ukraine.
The main tasks in this area set by the government today were outlined by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi and the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Yevhen Kudriavets.
Roman Hryshchuk, Chairman of the Subcommittee of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education Science and Innovation, spoke about the issue of legislative support.
Valentina Poltorak as a Manager of the DECIDE Swiss-Ukrainian project stressed the importance of conducting a thorough study of the real state of extracurricular activities in communities. Currently, the Project team of experts is conducting research on the state of out-of-school education in the territorial communities of Ukraine.
Participants also actively discussed in groups, and worked with SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to extracurricular activities from the perspective of different stakeholders. A SWOT analysis of the financing of the industry was also carried out, which made it possible to identify key points of influence and share ideas.
This strategic session was another important step in identifying and planning strategic priorities for the development of out-of-school education in Ukraine.
